Where on earth do you start when you walk into a house that will become an estate sale?

Sometimes depending on the house, it can be so overwhelming. That is what I hear from clients all the time! There is so much to look at, consider, clean and price. Some houses can take days to organize for a sale where others can take weeks to finish.

I always think of the first days as a treasure hunt. Who knows what has been forgotten in the linen closet hidden behind towels, under the bed or even in an old dusty trunk. It’s exciting to find a piece of forgotten history as an old play bill (Cat On A Hot Tin Roof), an old celebrity photo (Marilyn Monroe), or a child’s worn out mitten. All treasured at one time or another.

Houses hold so much history – you just need to uncover it!
